On March 27, 2010 Popple’s Farm & Garden in Coventry will re-open its doors as The Connecticut Country Store & Nursery. Owners John and Christine Dittrich will continue the tradition of providing flower and vegetable plants for local gardeners. In addition, customers can enjoy farm-fresh local products including produce, dairy, smoked meats, bread & pastries, maple syrup, honey, and preserves. The gift shop will offer unique hand-made items from over twenty-three local artists, as well as vintage toys and candy for children. Three mulch bays will offer homeowners and landscapers alike a convenient place to purchase landscaping materials.
“Our goal is to promote sustainable living practices while providing our customers the best products our local community has to offer”, says John, co-owner and life-long resident of the area. “Our Connecticut farmers and artists are what make this store possible.”
Their March 27th Grand opening will be a fun-filled event for all. Special guests will include the diverse petting zoo from Circle K Farm in East Hampton, including a young camel.
